I ask selfishly, as I've embarked on a similar project (writing a book, though not on photographing northern CA:) and have scraped and tripped and suffered gracelessly through the process of...defining a process. Ouch. Who'd have thought?? I received a degree in writing from UC Boulder but in all that time, not one class covered process (or craft), while most books I've encountered address creativity. My challenge - and I'm curious to hear whether you faced something similar - has been to organize my ideas and the concepts I work with cohesively, and also to have a modular approach that allows areas of my project to scale as new ideas spring up.
