New Assignment: The American West
Picture: Delicate Arch at Sunset, Arches National Park, near Moab, Utah.

(Side note: Some of you may have seen this image last Fall. It was featured on the cover of The Territory Ahead catalog.)
Friday afternoon, a day when business calls are usually light, I got a phone call from a major national travel magazine with a travel assignment to document a 2o page photo essay of Landscapes of the American West. The coverage will include images from my stock photo files, plus 20 days of location shooting. The location work will be to supplement areas that I don’t have. But at $750.00 a day plus expenses, you won’t be hearing too many compaints from me. I’ll be leaving today.
You know what today is, right?

Congrats on the big assignment! I’m very happy for you (and a bit jealous!). I need some outdoor photo time myself, for now I’ll just have to settle with changing diapers (and disposing of them properly of course!).

I’m so knee deep in diapers that I did in fact forget what today is! I need a drink.

What? No private chopper and personal bartender? Man, you need to learn to negotiate.

What a cushy assignment. I’m sure you’ll work for every last $$ of that, too. Not bad for a slow Friday.
